Øsby Church
4. November 2025The organ in Hørup Church was delivered by our company in 1978/1981 (first stage in 1978 – second stage with swell in 1981). The organ's facade was designed by architect Jørgen Greve.
Prior to the rebuilding in 2025, the organ was equipped with 10 stops:
Great: Rørfløjte 8’, Spidsgamba 8', Principal 4', Oktav 2' , Mixtur III
Swell: Gedakt 8’, Spilfløjte 4’, Quint 2 2/3’, Gemshorn 2’
Pedal: Subbas 16’
Couplers: H+S, P+H, P+S

After the rebuilding in 2025, the disposition comprises 16 stops. A tremulant has been added to the swell.
The registration has been converted to electric action, with a setzer. New windchests and organ cases have been built for the swell and pedal.
The new organ case has been extended in height, incorporating part of the attic space to make room for an 8'.
A new wind system with blower and wedge bellows has also been installed in the church attic.
The console has been rebuilt and moved to the north side of the gallery. A 16' coupling has been added.

Excerpt from the approval statement by Torben Krebs, organ consultant to the Ministry of Church Affairs:
"With the organ's current disposition – substantially reworked/expanded, but still based on a classical organ reform movement – it is possible to perform a large repertoire within church service and concert music. Everything is beautifully adjusted and voiced in relation to the relatively intimate size of the room and the short acoustics. The fact that it works – and sounds – so well in the dry room can be attributed not least to the wind supply with a wedge bellows ... When you encounter the Hørup organ for the first time as a player, you notice the beautiful and simple console, which with its finely integrated setzer system appears classic and straightforward... The ergonomics of the console itself are 100% satisfactory: you sit comfortably and can enjoy listening, as it is possible to assess balance, volume, etc. in the best possible way. It is therefore good that the console has been moved from its original position. The organ's key action works well and has a pleasant touch. A visual inspection of the organ gave the impression of craftsmanship and materials of the highest quality!
