5. January 2026In 1828, Marcussen and Reuter built the organ in Øsby Church as their opus 6. The original facade pipes were melted down for war purposes during World War I and were replaced with zinc pipes in 1921. The organ was subsequently restored in 1941 and 1980, and in 1980 new tin facade pipes were reinstalled.
Today, the organ is the second oldest playable Marcussen & Reuter organ, and it unfolds beautifully in the large and acoustically fine space of Øsby Church. The facade of the organ bears the text “singing with grace in your hearts unto God (Col. 3:16).

The two original box bellows were dismantled in 1965 in connection with the renovation of the pulpit. The organ is tuned to a pitch of a1=428 Hz.
