18. June 2019The organ was first built in 1872 by Johan Andreas Demant, for an unknown location. Some of the pipes originates from the main organ in Nyborg Church, which was build by P.U.F. Demant in 1830. A note on the windchest of the Choir Organ says:
This windchest was build by my late father P.U.F. Demant... Dalum Mølle 1830...for Nyborg Church. 1871 a larger organ was delivered for this church - Now a new windchest has been installed. Aarhus 3rd of June 1872. J.A Demant. My little son is called Thorvald and is 8,5 years old.
At that time it was very common that the craftsman would leave a little proud note. - The son was probably to inherit the company.
In 1882 the organ was placed in St. Martins Logen in Randers.
In 1917 it was relocated to Haslund church.
Since 2007 the organ is back in Nyborg, and serves now as a choir organ, after a restoration by Marcussen & Søn.
