In 2025, in collaboration with organ builder Anders Havgaard Rasmussen, we delivered a new organ to Lyngby Church in Kongens Lyngby. The organ has 20 stops + 1 vacant stop (Fagot 8' in pedal), distributed across the Great, Positive and Pedal divisions. Anders Havgaard Rasmussen has provided the facade design, sound concept and voicing. The façade and the base of the organ case are divided into sections with steel frames. Above the tin pipes of the facade are brass decorations. The organ case is made of grey-painted pine. The roof of the organ case is made of tempered glass, through which the impressive limestone paintings of the tower vault can be seen.
Centred in the façade is a brass star that rotates when the chime is activated. The picture above shows the wind wheel behind the star.
The Great and Positiv (separate) windchests are placed behind each other and separated by a tuning bridge. The pedalboard is located under the Positiv. The wind system with blower and folding bellows for the manual sections is located behind the organ. The pedalboard has a regulating bellow.
The disposition was developed in collaboration with the parish council's organ consultant, Sven-Ingvart Mikkelsen.
The Ministry of Church Affairs' organ consultant, Kristian Olesen, writes in his approval statement:
The new instrument functions well both musically and technically and is in itself a significant improvement on the church's previous organ.
The organ has been carefully voiced, the individual stops sound excellent, and the overall sound of the organ fills the room naturally and harmoniously. I would particularly like to highlight the Principal 8' and Octave 4' as beautiful, and the three reed stops are also excellent. Overall, the new organ must therefore be considered a great success.
