18. December 2022The restoration of the Knud Olsen organ in St. Katharina Church, Store Heddinge was carried out in 2021-2022.
The organ was built by Knud Olsen in 1877 with 16 stops on 2 manuals and pedal.
In 1906 it was modified by I. Starup and in 1952 by Th. Frobenius & Co. Wind supply with electric fan and magazine bellows were installed in 1915.
It has chimes with 4 brass bells (G H d d1), incl. starting station with lead conduit for wind wheel.
The wind supply with magazine bellows/pump bellows, is in a compartment under the organ.
The organ's technical installations have been restored, preserving as far as possible the Knud Olsen's original construction methods and materials. The reconstruction has disregarded the parts designed by Th. Frobenius & Co. in 1952. The Euphone 8’ added by I. Starup in 1906 (since replaced by Sivfløjte 1 1/3') has been removed.
The work was carried out with the support of the Johan Otto Wroblewski Foundation.
