Lindevang Church Frederiksberg

Antvorskov Church
11. June 2019The organ in Lübeck Cathedral was built in 1970 with 47 stops on the Great organ, Rückpositive, Oberwerk (in swell, behind Prinzipal 4') and pedal. The church's earlier organs were destroyed in bombing raids in 1942, including the richly decorated baroque façade of the Schnitger organ, which was placed on a gallery in the western part of the cathedral. When the cathedral was rebuilt, the Marcussen organ was placed in the north aisle of the church. From this position, the organ achieves a better contact in relation to the performance of the service, and the reverberation time in the enormous church space is shorter. The organ's layout and architecture are austere and minimalist. The architects Sandtmann and Grundmann were responsible for the reconstruction and furnishing of the church.
