11. June 2019The organ in Vilstrup Church was the first organ to be built under the company name Marcussen & Søn. It was completed in 1849 and had 14 stops. The organ replaced a smaller instrument built by Oppenhagen. The organ facade from this organ (1803) is preserved. The organ was rebuilt – and equipped with pneumatic actions – in 1931.
In 2002 the mechanical organ was re-created, and the specification restored, with one additional stop. Now the organ has 15 stops, of which 8 have original pipes from 1849, and 2 stops have pipes from 1931.
