The palace by Lake Esrum in northern Zealand is frequently used as residence for the royal family in the spring and autumn months. The beautiful rooms and halls often form the setting for major state visits and royal events.
Restoration of the organ and reconstruction of individual stops was carried out in 2023. The box bellows system was also reconstructed. The bellows system can be pulled mechanically and is also equipped with an electrical system for winding pistons.
The organ was built in 1846 by Marcussen & Reuter, with 17 stops on 2 manuals and pedal. In 1960, our company undertook alterations, influenced by the sound ideals of the Organ Reform Movement, where the organ's string stops were replaced by lighter sounding registers. Changes from 1960 have now been reversed, so that the organ's original specification has been recreated.
